How you doing Vintnerds?
Last week we had planned on doing a post about how underrated November is-and then the US presidential election results came in and November felt like it deserved to be ignored.
While we have unfortunately seen this film before, that hasn’t made processing the election any less painful. We were both adults during the last Trump administration and the thought of having to go through it again is exhausting. We find that many of our loved ones are the same-feeling too tired to organize and protest for another 4 years.
What we have really found that we need right now is community. So we're starting a new series of community building nights: activities, food, and of course wine, to bring people together and help strengthen our relationships.
November Craft Night: Pressed Flower Pumpkins
These have been all over social media lately and are super easy to make. They’re a great group activity because they’re simple to make but allow for plenty of individualism or creativity. Show them off as fall decor or Thanksgiving tablescapes.
Supplies
Pressed flowers (you can press your own or buy some)
Mod Podge
Sponge brushes
Pumpkins or other gourds (real or fake)
Instructions
Put a thin layer of Mod Podge on the pumpkin where you want to place the flower.
Press the flower down and then dab on another layer of Mod Podge. If the flowers are having a hard time sticking, continue to layer Mod Podge until they are secure.
Long stems are harder to stick down so you may want to trim them.
Snacks: Caramel Apple Blondies

This one is for the cinnamon apple girls. Whip up a tray of these before people come over; they’re simple and are perfect for fall. Caramel is notoriously tricky to make, but these blondies make it easy with caramel chips.
Wine: Pierre & Antonin Petit Sauvage Rouge

This French natural wine tastes like rich fruit (think plum and blackberries) with an earthy finish of cedar and herbs. The tannins are very smooth but linger. It will feel like fall and will brighten up a chilly night. You can find it at smaller wine stores or some Trader Joe’s.
