Best Wines for Halloween Candy

Fruity Candy: Off-dry Riesling

Remember with wine, sweet matches with sweet; they will actually counteract each other a little and take down the overall sweetness of the wine and candy. An off-dry Riesling will have enough sugar to meld with the candy, but the high acidity will stop it from being sickly.

Chocolate: Port

Port and chocolate are a classic pairing; the fruitiness of the port complimenting the bitterness of the chocolate. Now, a Reese’s is not fine dark chocolate, but we like it just the same. Just remember, Port is a fortified wine (around 20% abv), so pour a smaller glass.
