Happy Halloween Vintnerds!Â
We know that it’s not actually Halloween, but for those of us with day jobs, it’s the weekend before which is peak celebration time.Â
We understand that you might be out, taking your dogs (or kids!) to costume contests, pumpkin patchin’, or otherwise engaged in Halloween Hijinks.Â
HOWEVER,Â
If you do happen to have the time, this should be your…
HALLOWEEKEND DOUBLE FEATUREÂ
Apartment 7A (Paramount+)Â
A prequel to Rosemary’s Baby, it’s really more of an homage. Wrapping up the anxieties surrounding female bodily autonomy in a nostalgic package, Julia Garner deliver hidden depths to Terry Giofrino, a blink and miss it character from the original Rosemary’s Baby. Overall, it’s an enjoyable watch, with (bedazzled!) demons and a killer ending dance number.Â
Rosemary’s Baby (1968)
Iconic movie where there’s witchcraft, men not believing women, and meddling elderly neighbors (the scariest part). Yes, it’s directed by Roman Polanski (Melissa avoided it till this year for that reason). But it’s a classic because it marries 60’s sensibilities with the Satanic Panic, creating a true chilling story. A true must-watch.Â
Pair with:Â Vodka Blush! (IYKYK)Â
This cocktail made it’s debut in Rosemary’s Baby. It’s simple, you probably have all the ingredients on your bar cart, but very yummy and will get you in the Halloween spirit.
2-½ oz vodka
Dash grenadine
½ oz fresh lime juice
Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Strain into the glass of your choice (we recommend vintage).
Still have more time to kill on the weekend? Why not watch the 2014 limited series of Rosemary’s Baby starring Zoe Saldana (Prime)?Â
